TINA WARHURST, LCSW, RPT-S
My name is Tina Warhurst and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a degree as a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. I work with clients aged 3 and up with a wide range of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, attachment issues, parenting problems, career challenges, obsessions/compulsions, and life changes/challenges. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether that is from recent events or more chronic and complex trauma such as childhood trauma including physical/sexual abuse or emotional abuse.
I work within a variety of modes of treatment. I am trained and certified in EMDR treatment for trauma. I am a Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor with training in expressive techniques such as sandtray therapy and expressive arts. Trained in IFS, DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, CPR-T for parent and child relationships, and Motivational Interviewing. I am the current Vice President for the Utah Association for Play Therapy. My approach combines both talk and experiential counseling.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in the power of the relationship between therapist and client to help gain a deeper connection to Self for healing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in judgements or stigmatizing labels. I believe that each individual holds within them the power to change and thrive given the right information and support. I believe that most people need to be seen, heard, and understood before taking on the task of change. It would be my privilege to be that support for you. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet you or your child's unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to work for a more fulfilling and happier life, to become whole and healed, and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
